For the last 22 years, since 2000 to till date 2021 Shri Gulab Srinivas has been the dynamic organizer of Sri Nava Durga Navaratri Utsav Samiti. Under the umbrella of this Organization, he has been organizing the Navaratri Utsavs culminating into Dashera. He has been installing the eco-friendly Durga Mata Idols Festival by celebrating the Navaratri Utsav. Since then, he has been installing the biggest Goddess Durga Mata Idols at a Pandal. 

In 2000, he first began installation of a 5 ft Eco-friendly Goddess Durga Mata Idol and celebrated the Navaratri Utsavs on a grand scale. Every year, the Idol's size has been increasing substantially and proportionately. This year 2021, the Durga Mata Idol's size is 45 ft.

What Goes into Making This Magnificent Eco-friendly Idol

25 craftsmen and artisans from Kolkata were engaged to sculpt this magnificent eco-friendly Durga Mata Idol. They were brought down from Kolkata in a flight. The raw material used in making this eco-friendly Idol is clay, grass, and ocean clay, water paints etc. It takes nearly 40 to 50 days to complete the Idol sculpting. All this activity costs some Rs.12 to 15 lakhs. By the Grace of Durga Mata, all this amount is funded by Shri Gulab Srinivas himself.

Biggest Attraction of the World

Lakhs and lakhs of people participate in the immersion procession of Durga Mata Idol each year. People from other States like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra come to visit and worship our Durga Mata Idol. They all believe that their dreams and wishes gets fulfilled once worshipped here. For twice, our Eco-friendly Durga Mata Idol has been entered into the World Record Books in 2014 and 2019 as the largest Idols.

This Year 2021's Grand Celebration

This year 2021, Shri Gulab Srinivas, as usual is organizing the biggest Navaratri Utsav. He is installing the 45 feet tallest Eco-friendly Durga Mata Idol at Esamia Bazaar, beside Television Hotel Lane, Esamia Bazaar, Koti on 7th of October, 2021. The Nimajjanam shall be conducted on Tuesday, the 19th October, 2021 around 4.30 p.m.

Daily Activities at the Maha Mandapam

The Maha Aarathi performed to this Biggest Durga Idol is considered as equal to the Aarathi performed at Prayag Raj Ganga Aarathi. The nine-day program at this Navaratri Utsav is celebrated on a grand note with daily poojas, maha aarathi, bhajans and devotional singing, and foot-tapping dances to the tunes of devotional songs. Annadaan or feeding the poor is arranged at the Mandapam for 2 to 3 days. Shri Satyanarayana Vratham is also performed for the benefit of the devotees. People also participate in large numbers and compete to buy the sacred sarees.

The nine-day Navaratri is covered by the largest section of the media which include print, broadcast, and social media platforms. The nine-day programs are also shot and uploaded on YouTube channel on a daily basis so that people from all over the world can watch and be blessed.
